One of my very favorite childhood memories is playing "wash cloth tag" with my siblings and mother. My creative mother invented this silly game as a way to help entertain us while she was sorting the household laundry.
I don't remember the exact specifics but it went something along the lines of my mom sitting on her bed (aka home base) and folding laundry. She would occasionally sneak away from the bed (and up on us) with a handful of wash cloths. She'd round the corner and exclaim "Ah - ha, surprise!! Wash cloth tag!!" at which point she'd hurl multiple washcloths in our direction. We'd squeal with delight and try to run away. If she tagged you with a wash cloth you were her prisoner and had to come back with her to the home base and await rescue (a tag) from another sibling in order to be free again.
So it was with nostalgia and fond memories that I introduced my daughter to laundry games. We had a giant pile of fresh clean wash in our hallway just toasty warm from the drier... I just couldn't resist
Quick, bury you in the wash!! |
Pure joy - laughing and laughing |
Shall we play again? |
